My Mom paints, I paint, and my daughter paints. My daughter visited me from out of state recently, and I was delighted to spend time in the studio with her. She has a very graphic eye in her work, probably due to her training as a graphic designer. She usually works in acrylic (they dry too fast for my taste), and when she visited recently, she asked for a lesson in oils. How does one teach someone else how to paint? It was in interesting question. We had fun exploring the medium, and it gave my brain some exercise in articulating what has been a mostly solitary exploration of how to use oil paint.
